Regarding the Kiss Cafe franchise I first came across it in Canning Vale WA. The first thing to catch my eye was the excellent presentation of the vehicle. Clean, well kept and the logo pattern said lots at first glance; that’s important for business. First impressions count.
The next thing was the coffee itself. I found it tasty, fresh and served with good customer service by the franchisee. Simple and clear cut. Good coffee service with the choice of a small range of associated food stuffs such as muffins and cookies etc. I asked a few questions of the franchisee and expressed my interest in a franchise.
He referred myself to Rosal. After a short time and many discussions with my wife we contacted Rosal and arranged a personal visit with her and her husband. We found them to be very honest and I was particularly attracted to Rosals "no nonsense" approach along with her genuine passion about her business. It is important to have a passion about your business otherwise it may become another burden or job. Hence, the need for any person looking into franchise opportunities to be very honest, firstly, with themselves and then the business potential they are considering. Don’t fall in love with an idea and then allow that idea to blind you to the realities of business.
Sabine and I were very serious when looking into the Kiss Cafe franchise. I believe it to be a very good opportunity. However, my wife and I after much discussion and honest soul searching felt that we would prefer to move into a business that is closer to my wife’s area of skills. She has much experience in continental deli type business and specialty foods such as German and general European small goods. So by being honest we both felt that while we could do the Kiss Cafe, we must first explore our own passion for a small goods type business more closely. Therefore, given that as a background we felt it best to step aside from Kiss Cafe at this time.
We both felt that the Franchisor was both very ethical and genuine in their dealings with us. They have a good service and product to offer so they have no need to be anything but honest. The most important thing to decide is to make sure you are honest with yourself before you make any commitments. Once you commit it’s very difficult to change your position so make sure you know what you want. Keep in mind that just because a business is good, it does not mean that you will be good at it. You see, good business and successful business is based on personal commitment, honesty, integrity and passion as well as the ability to "stick it out" through the set up time and the inevitable up and down of business. Those qualities we found in Rosal at Kiss Cafe. We may revisit Kiss Cafe in the future and would have no hesitation to belong to the Kiss Cafe group.
So if you want a good start in business do not hesitate to look at Kiss Cafe. Rosal will make sure you have a long and genuine look at the business which is the very least you should do for yourself anyway. Be honest about what you want and what you think you can put into the business. Money is only a part of business. If you lack passion and discernment toward a business idea or model then think very carefully before you buy into it.
